I dunno, book friends. I’m kinda a sucker for February. It’s one of my favorite months of the year. Maybe because it’s my Birthday month (February 1st! Hey Aquarius friends!). Maybe it’s because it’s just NOT January anymore, haha.

Regardless, I want to take a quick second to thank all of you for taking the time to subscribe to my new-ish newsletter: it’s been a beast getting this thing up and running, crafting content, giving you a more in-depth JBC experience (while also still providing content to everyone on Instagram), and figuring out how to use a new social media platform (that birthday I’m celebrating this month is a…**cough** BIG ONE **cough** and I’m quickly getting too old to learn new internet tools and techniques, hahaha. Despite all that, I’m so grateful you’re here and so appreciative of your support as a subscriber (especially my paid subscribers…THANK YOU).

As we head into the second month of Jordy’s Substack, I’m slowly starting to get into the rhythm of the content I will be sharing moving forward. Every month you should expect a reading resource guide: a one-stop shop for all the big books (and some under-the-radar titles) hitting bookshelves that month. Additionally, you’ll get a more in-depth look at the monthly JBC book club pick, including reviews and author interviews. I will also continue to share more in-depth weekly #pubday guides, special curated lists (I think this month we’ll focus on romance), and more. I’m always open to suggestions and feedback, so if there’s something you’d like to see more (or less) of, feel free to comment below, or shoot me an email (jordysbookclub@gmail.com).

Now that housekeeping is out of the way, let’s get to the “heart” of today’s post (pun intended). February Books!! So many!! Here they come!

Below you’ll find the 10 books I’m most excited for this month. These are not only the books I’m most excited for, but also books you, the readers, are anticipating the most. If that’s not enough for you, I’ve also included 50+ more books hitting bookshelves throughout the month. No excuses next time you’re in the bookstore or at the library; here’s everything you need to execute a really great month of reading.

As always, enjoy and Happy Reading!!

xoxo

EVERYONE ON THIS TRAIN IS A SUSPECT by Benjamin Stevenson (January 30th)

Tell Me More: I know, I know, technically it’s a January release. but i’m all for finding excuses to celebrate great books, and this one is basically a February book. And it’s so good, so I’m mentioning it again. if you love Agatha Christie or Hitchcock or a good murder msytery, this is ONE OF THE BEST. It’s technically the sequel to 2023’s EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE, but I think it can also be read as a standalone. A whodunnit set aboard an Australian train full of mystery writers and fans, this book is almost too damn clever for it’s own good, and as someone who went in with sky-high expectations (EIMFHKS is a JBC favorite), i was blown away by how Stevenson manages to stick the landing here.

Genre Buzzwords/For Fans Of: murder mysteries, whodunnits, meta fiction, puzzle-box mysteries; EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE by Benjamin Stevenson; THE ENIGMA OF ROOM 622 by Joel Dicker; THE GUEST LIST by Lucy Foley; WEST HEART KILL by Dann McDorman

TV/Film News: the first book was optioned in a heated auction by Bruna Papandrea (BIG LITTLE LIES) and HBO a couple years ago. No news since then.

Pre-Order Here

THE WOMEN by Kristin Hannah (February 6th)

Tell Me More: I don’t generally read historical fiction, but I do read Kristin Hannah. I’m not a hardcord fan, but I’ve enjoyed everything of hers that I’ve read, with my favorite probably being her Alaskan Gilmore Girls-y THE GREAT ALONE. Her latest,
